How our weight loss treatment works

Our weight management service is designed to be straightforward from the moment you start. You stay in control, with clear steps and support from trusted UK GPs. Most of the process is online – if we ever need to check something, we’ll get in touch.

1. Complete your quick eligibility check

You’ll begin by answering a short set of questions. It helps us understand whether medical weight management is likely to be right for you. If it isn’t suitable, our system will let you know and guide you towards NHS-supported programmes instead.

2. Create your secure MyDoctor account

If the initial check suggests you may be suitable, you will be asked to create an account. This helps us keep your information safe and lets you manage your treatment in one place. We use YOTI for identity checks to ensure your account is fully verified before you continue.

3. Tell us about your health

Once you are signed in, you can complete your full medical questionnaire. This includes your weight history, any conditions you live with, current medicines and lifestyle habits. You can also upload recent blood test results or information from health apps if you have them.

4. GP review and confirmation

One of our experienced GPs will review your information carefully. If anything needs clarification, they will reach out for a quick message or a brief call at no extra cost. If treatment is suitable, they will confirm the best starting option for you. If it isn’t right for you, they will explain why and suggest safer alternatives.

5. Blood tests (if needed)

Some people will need baseline blood tests before starting treatment. These checks help your GP understand your overall health and make sure the medicine is safe for you. They may look at things like kidney function, liver health and blood sugar levels, depending on your medical history.

If you need tests, we can arrange a home appointment through our partner service. If you already have recent NHS results, you can upload them directly to your account.

6. Your prescription and delivery

When treatment is approved, your GP will issue a prescription through our partner online pharmacy, SignatureRx. They will contact you about delivery and provide tracking details. You’ll receive clear instructions about how to use your medicine and what to expect once you start.

You’ll also receive a short safety email with advice on common side effects, warning signs and when to seek help.

7. Keeping your NHS GP informed

With your permission, we’ll write to your NHS GP so they are aware of your treatment. This helps support continuity of care and ensures your medical record stays up to date.

8. Ongoing support and repeat prescriptions

Your MyDoctor account becomes your treatment hub. You can log weight changes, note any side effects and request repeat prescriptions when needed. Before every repeat or dose change, you will complete a short check-in so the GP can make sure the treatment is still right and safe for you.

Your GP will also check in with you at regular points in your journey, including an early review after a few weeks and further reviews as your treatment continues.

Weight loss treatments we offer

Our GPs may prescribe licensed weight loss medicines when they’re suitable for your health needs. Every treatment is reviewed by a UK-registered doctor, and you’ll only be offered options that are safe and appropriate for you.

GLP-1 injections

These injectable medicines work similarly to a natural hormone in your body that helps control appetite. Current options in the UK include Wegovy and Mounjaro. They can help you feel fuller sooner and support healthier eating patterns. They’re only prescribed when they’re right for your needs, and always used alongside lifestyle changes such as balanced eating and physical activity. Your GP will talk you through how they work, what to expect and whether they’re the right option for you.
